WHO ARE MANHATTAN NIGHTS?
Wiltshire’s No1 live band!
Whether it is your wedding day, birthday or private event we at Manhattan Nights understand how momentous and personal your event is and can therefore tailor our service to meet your individual requirements! We pride ourselves on having the experience, flexibility and professionalism to offer you this personal approach and so ensure that you enjoy a stress-free and smooth-running event.
Fronted by a female singer, we play a large selection of popular music from the late 50’s to the present day. Every song is not only a classic of its time, but guaranteed to keep guests on the dance floor. Our experience of entertaining people enables us to be flexible when selecting songs so that we cater for all ages.
Our sound is entirely LIVE, without pre-recorded tapes or backing tracks! We use a high-quality sound system and comprehensive lighting, which are operated by our very own sound engineer. We can also supply a disco between sets and are happy to plug in your pre-recorded iPod/MP3 if required. A radio microphone is also available for you to use if required.
If you have any special requests that are not already in our extensive repertoire, such as a favourite tune or a song for a first dance, we would be delighted to learn it especially for you, if possible.

Simon has been playing guitar since he was 12 years old and been playing in bands all his adult life. Although he switched to keyboards some 15 years ago, he has gone back to his beloved guitar since joining Manhattan Nights.
He is proficient in all styles of music including rock, blues, jazz, country, pop, and funk. Simon also adds lead and backing vocals.
« All music demands light and shade. In my opinion, its often what you don’t play that makes the difference. »
It was the skiffle music of Lonnie Donegan that first inspired Richard to take up the guitar. However he never achieved his other childhood ambition of becoming a dustman, like his old man.
For those interested in technical equipment, Richard can reveal the following details: he uses an amp and a guitar that is conventionally strung and tuned. As a youngster, he strung his first homemade guitar with electric fencing wire. Powering it up did wonders for his speed of fingering.
Richard claims his greatest achievement was supporting Cole Skuttle during his tour of the pubs in Devizes – a night now sadly lost to memory. His other pleasures include sport, real ales, country walks and cosy nights in. He also likes bananas!
« Smiles that I don’t see, I’ll make them up as I go on. »
